Field Service Engineer - Medium Voltage Drives (m/f/x)

For Siemens Large Drives Applications (LDA) in Huizingen, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer medium voltage drives. You are a part of the Customer Service team that is active in various sectors such as: steel industry, dredging, cement and petrochemicals.  

Siemens Large Drives translates the increasing demand for digitization into SidriveIQ. With an extensive and mature digitalization portfolio as backup, you can guide our customers in this transition. 


What are my responsibilities? 

As a Field Service Engineer you will focus on drive applications and more specifically for the frequency converters. You will be responsible for the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance and specific, customer-oriented support. In addition, you will participate in projects such as upgrades, retrofits and start-up of new drives.  

Providing training on drive applications will also be part of your tasks, as well as industrial cleaning in close cooperation with subcontractors. 

You will join an international but close team and can count on the support of your colleague Field Service Engineers and technical experts. Together with them, you are part of an on-call service based on a rotational role (about 7 weeks per year).  

This is a team under construction. In the beginning, your tasks will vary greatly, and consist of traveling, following training courses, onsite jobs and supporting desk work. We flexibly shape the structure of our services, so you will be able to give your own input

Your focus will be in the Benelux, but you are also on the road in northern France, west Germany and occasionally French-speaking Africa.  

What knowledge & skills do I have?

  • You have a Bachelor or Master's degree in electromechanics or other technical orientation.
  • A first experience in a similar position is an asset. If you have no experience yet, but do have a broad technical interest in Automation, Drive Technologies and Motion Control, you are also welcome. 
  • You have a basic knowledge of frequenqy convertors and medium voltage
  • Reading electrical diagrams is a piece of cake. If you can draw them yourself (for example with Eplan), that is an asset.
  • Working both independently and in a team suits you well.
  • You like to work result- and solution-oriented in a technical environment and you are able to convey your analyses in a communicative and customer-oriented
  • You are flexible with regard to on-call services.
  • English is a must. French, Dutch and German are a plus.
