Senior Commercial Bid Manager

Job Description


  • Be the Head of the Commercial Bid and Tender team for large scale Mobility tenders in Asean, while being based in Singapore
  • You will be the Key-interface to the Sales team for all commercial and contractual aspects along the Pre-Sales Phase up to the completion of tender stage and finally the hand over to the project execution team
  • Be a key player in the implementation of a winning bid strategy from all commercial as well as contractual aspects

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure reliable and transparent costing and stringent implementation of pricing strategy
  • Be involved in the negotiation with the customer to drive the bid team with all commercial and contractual aspects and in line with bid strategy
  • Together with the Bid Manager drive the identification, evaluation and assessment of risks and opportunities, define mitigation strategies and response plan and take over the full responsibility with respect to all commercial risks and opportunities
  • Ensure bid documentation from commercial aspects are in line with the mandatory internal and external requirements
  • Be the key interface to subject matter experts from procurement, legal, tax, customs, transfer price, insurances and ensures compliance to rules and regulations (both internal as well as statuary requirements)
  • Ensure effective communication with all relevant stakeholders within region and headquarters
  • Together with the contract team be responsible for the set up of a contract and claim management at tender stage
  • Ensure accurate handover to the project execution team incl. order entry calculation and proper documentation reflecting all changes during tender stage
  • Develop a high performing team of commercial bid managers across the Asean region by facilitating lessons learnt, coaching and systematic competence development

  • Master or advanced degree in a finance related field
  • Project Management Certification is a plus
  • At least 8 years of relevant commercial and contract management experience, especially on infra-structure projects, Rail experience is a plus
  • Experience in managing a team and being an inspiring, empathic leader
  • Experience of working in multinational companies
  • Analytical, self-initiative and team player with good communication skills
  • Feel comfortable to work in fast paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Well-versed in PC Software / Applications
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English due to multi-cultural working environment
