About the role
In response to ever-growing demands from Korean and worldwide customers, we are now looking for highly motivated (Junior) Consultant Engineers to work in our SPSE APAC Technical Service Team. (Junior) Consultant Engineers are responsible for supporting SPSE’s technical consulting and supporting works a) for SPSE’s process industry customers, and b) for sales and business development activities using our software products such as gPROMS Process and gPROMS Formulated Products. Our customers include most of the major chemicals & petrochemicals and oil & gas companies such as ExxonMobil, Shell, SABIC, Hanwha TOTAL Petrochemical, Hyosung, LG Chem, SK Chemicals, SK Innovation, WONIK materials and so on.
Area of responsibility
This position will be largely technical and will include frequent interactions with customers as well as consulting, sales and development teams in various business units within SPSE. This position encompasses the following main responsibilities:
- Supporting SPSE’s other high-technical-level consultants’ consulting service projects using our gPROMS software (and CFD software such as STAR-CCM+ and FLUENT : CFD is not essential for this position at the moment, but would be very advantaged)
- Supporting SPES’s various business development activities with the inclusion of visiting prospects, attending trade shows, presenting at seminars and conferences and publishing related work
- Supporting SPSE’s current and potential customers in their applications of our products with the inclusion of delivering SPSE’s tailored training courses, and solving customers’ technical support requests via visit, phone and email
- Supporting building positive and lasting client relationships to help ensure the continued and successful use of our products and consulting services
Your qualifications
- BSc/MSc/PhD in process simulation, process modelling, reaction engineering or similar technical qualification (Process, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering)
- Experience in process system modelling tools
- Application of process system modelling software (gPROMS®, Aspen®, HYSIS®, PRO II®, Dymola®, MATLAB® or other tools) to solving process system modelling problems
- Experience in developing and applying first-principles mathematical models
- Good usage of Microsoft Office software (PowerPoint®, Excel®, Word®)
- Good oral and written communication (presentation) skills
- Good command of spoken and written English
