This role offers an exciting sales career working in sectors that are critical to the energy transformation journey. Siemens Electrification & Automation is central to meeting these challenges providing energy distribution systems, solutions and services in order to build and manage the resilient, flexible and intelligent power distribution grids needed for today and the future. The position is focused on the Industrial, Infrastructure and Construction markets in the West of England and South Wales, delivering the regional sales targets, leading the business development of key accounts whilst stimulating and securing sales in new and less established customer bases.

We are recruiting for 2 positions, these roles will be home based, covering different regions of the UK:

North: This position is focused on the Power Generation, Renewables & Electricity Network Operator markets in the North of England and Wales, delivering the regional sales targets, leading the business development of key accounts whilst stimulating and securing sales in new and less established customer bases.  

West:
The position is focused on the Industrial, Infrastructure and Construction markets in the West of England and South Wales, delivering the regional sales targets, leading the business development of key accounts whilst stimulating and securing sales in new and less established customer bases.

This is your role. What part will you play?
  • Responsible for the regions/verticals order intake budget achievement
  • Generation of sales enquiries and leads
  • Provides client-centric vision, leadership and escalation to the organisation 
  • Primary interface for selling activities. Growing the value of overall business and delivering business development opportunities.
  • Integrates market, competition, trends and other business factors to develop strategies that positively impact the business and its approach to retaining and expanding its customer base.
  • Creation of customer account plans, defining customer spend strategy, competitive environment and identifying fiscal new orders and business development targets.
  • Creation and delivery of sales strategies and tactics to win target opportunities
  • Communicates a clear strategy for the account to all stakeholders and achieves business commitment and support.
  • Identifying and driving Siemens cross division/sector business development opportunities
  • Influence and challenge customers strategy, policy & specifications
  • Keep appraised of competitor approaches & offerings
  • Supporting product launches, marketing campaigns & promotions
  • Use of CRM system for planning, customer data, visit recording and sales funnel management including accurate order intake forecasting
  • Abide by all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies, for example Business Conduct Guidelines & Confidential Informatio

What does it take to be successful in this role?
  • Direct sales experience in a service/product selling environment or someone with a background in the industrial/power engineering sector seeking a career change.  
  • Comprehensive understanding of distribution systems and technologies
  • Demonstrable knowledge of developing propositions based around core product portfolio
  • A good track record of developing plans, maintaining stakeholder relationships and achieving targets
  • Ability to be a role model and a coach to our sales support (tendering function) to create an environment that encourages entrepreneurialism and creativity
  • Ability to clearly articulate customer requirements
  • Professional image with good interpersonal skills as well as being a strong relationship builder
  • Leadership qualities and business-results oriented
  • Persistent and proactive
