Join our team now as a Staff Scientist (Physics) for our Research Team. We are seeking a well-rounded experienced physicist to strengthen our team to develop the next generation emission tomography instruments. This position is located at Hoffman Estates, IL. A comprehensive relocation package will be provided for out of state candidates.
You will work in the multi-disciplinary team of SPECT Research to support our entire current and future SPECT product line working on various projects with technology readiness level of 7 years or below. You should have a passion to understand and address clinical needs and boundaries in this field, as well as considering the constraints and opportunities of the business. Your 15 year or more research experience using pre-clinical imaging, and clinical imaging tomography system in a clinical environment benefits the deployment of future imaging system prototypes. Your passion for quality control, and calibration will drive your development for tools and methods to ensure a consistently optimal performance of prototypes and product alike. You should be comfortable to take on large and complex problems as an individual contributor or as part of a larger team. In this role you will contribute or lead research efforts to develop and test prototypes by using your experience in the field, as well as conducting or consulting of suitable experiments and analyze data to efficiently move the projects forward. Your excellent communication skills and expertise will also allow you to collaborate with luminary research sites worldwide to test and validate the new technologies in a clinical setting.
- Ph.D. in physics or related fields suitable for the tasks
- Desired areas of expertise:
- Gamma ray detection instrumentation and image formation
- Quality control and calibration
- Radiation transfer
- Image processing and data analysis
- Coaching and collaboration
- Demonstrated strong ability to conduct research using multi modal imaging devices
- Ability to communicate efficiently with both scientists and non-scientists is essential and strongly desired
