Student Intern – Quality Assurance in EDM

Overview of position 

Working independently and as part of group of Agile Scrum teams in the EU, US and worldwide that applies testing methodologies to improve software quality, including functional, application, regression and performance testing.

You will be a member of EDM team

EDM (Enterprise Data Management) is a Data Hub for all electronic CAD data: library data, design data, component information, models and simulation data, managed blocks, and related documents. EDM enables and accelerates collaboration on schematics, layouts, parts or reuse blocks. EDM applications are in web and desktop format. 

Our customers are in all industries: computer systems, electronics, mobile, wireless, industry control systems, medical, semiconductors, telecommunications, automotive, mil-aero, space. EDM team in Katowice comprises eight scrum teams. 

What will you be doing

  • Your key role will be to constantly improve the quality of our products 
  • Creating and executing test plans 
  • Creating automated tests 
  • Taking part in product development as a quality specialist 
  • Helping in quality process improvements 
  • Creating and maintaining testing environments 
  • Using some of the following technologies: 
  • Java 
  • Python (PyWinAuto) 
  • Selenium 
  • JavaScript 
  • PostgreSQL 
  • Oracle 
  • TestNG 
  • Windows/Linux 
  • JIRA 
  • Cooperating with Senior Developers on the team 
  • Taking a role of the team player: there will be more people like you! 

How long will the internship last

  • 11 months with a possibility to be converted into a permanent position with Siemens

What do you need to succeed ? 

  • Student of degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Electronics or other related discipline, able to commit 20-40h/week for this job 
  • Conversational English 
  • Eligibility to work legally in Poland without immigration support 
  • Willingness to work independently and as part of the team 
  • Attention to details and high-quality work 
  • You should be familiar with at least basic testing methodologies and one of the computer programming languages on the practical level – the rest you can learn with us! 
  • Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition Enterprise software can help you but is not a must
