1. Purpose

Leads the collaboration team of Business Area AT in the Asia Pacific Region

2. Role Description

・ Takes responsibility for all collaboration projects conducted by the appointed organization unit.

・ Acts as the central point of contact for collaboration topics.

・ Ensures that all collaboration projects follow the four compliance principles, e.g., separation, fair-market-value, documentation, transparency.

・ Enters into discussions with (key) collaboration partners to steer and channel research collaboration topics and establish close relationships.

・ Ensures the fit of collaboration projects and partners with the research pipeline and the business strategy.

・ Acts as an escalation point in case of nonconformance of project milestones.

・ Cooperates in org unit overarching projects and bodies.

3. Authority ／ Responsibility

・ Defines the organization unit-specific process for all collaboration activities based on superior guidelines and directives.

・ Plans and allocates resources and budgets to individual collaboration projects or related activities.

・ Oversees processes and milestones for the contracted collaboration projects.

・ Ensures knowledge transfer in cross-border collaborations.

・ Manages the organization unit assigned, leads, motivates, and develops dedicated employees.

・ Deep understanding of the technologies behind AT products and clinical prototypes

・ Deep understanding of the clinical therapy field and minimally invasive medicine

・ Deep understanding of the restrictions and limitations on the workflow in a clinical environment

・ High integrity and a solid understanding of ethical and regulatory constraints in a clinical research environment

・ Deep understanding of the Healthcare market.

・ Solid understanding of intellectural property (patents)

・ Minimum: 10 years of professional working experience, including 5 years work experience in R&D, Innovation, or collaboration in the medical industry.

・ Experience working with x-ray angiography or other minimally-invasive therapy and surgery imaging modalities; frequent interaction with medical doctors and other medical staff.

・ Desired: Team management experience.

8. Certifications／Training

・ Ph.D. degree in engineering, physics, or a related field, or MD degree
