The Opportunity –

Reporting to the Building Products Americas Head of Quality and EHS, you will establish and drive the implementation of Siemens sustainability programs and initiatives in addition to leading Environmental, Health and Safety compliance.  You will work collaboratively with the global business unit team and other stakeholders to align on Sustainability and EHS programs and lead cross functional teams to achieve local and global Sustainability DEGREE and EHS goals and objectives. You will be a catalyst for business excellence and sustainability across BP Americas, contributing directly to business performance.  

What you will do –

  • Adapt, promote, and implement global Sustainability and EHS programs and initiatives and monitor their effectiveness
  • Track and report Sustainability DEGREE and EHS metrics and performance
  • Drive the sustainability program of the locations with a primary focus on decarbonization and resource efficiency activities
  • Conduct and manage EHS incident investigations, including incident tracking and recordkeeping requirements (internal and external)
  • Perform and coordinate industrial hygiene surveys, ergonomic evaluations, air monitoring, noise sampling
  • Work in concert with the training department on relevant EHS training programs, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment, Emergency Response, Hazard Communication, etc.; this may include content development and training facilitation
  • Participate in audit activities (internal and external) including identification of Sustainability and EHS issues and driving actions to resolve
  • Ensure the implementation of existing environmental and occupational safety regulations including but not limited to: RCRA, CWA, SWPPP, SPCC, OSHA, etc.
  • Track environmentally related Federal, State, and Local regulatory changes known to or that may impact operations
  • Interface with regulatory agencies, employees, and outside legal counsel on behalf of business when required; coordinate business response and/or comments to regulatory changes
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards

What You Will Bring –

  • You will have a technical degree and / or EHS related / relevant fields (e. g. Safety Engineer) and / or recognized certificates (e. g. NEBOSH).
  • You will have professional work experience of at least 10 years which must include:
  • experience in related field in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • implementation and auditing of ISO 45001:2018 and 14001:2015 standards
  • experience with product related environmental topics such as sustainability, recyclability, cradle-to-grave analysis, while maintaining compliance with Product Regulatory Approvals (UL, CSA, FM, etc.)
  • leading environmental and occupational safety & health programs (injury reduction, trending, compliance, etc.)
  • You must demonstrate to us that:

  • You can effectively collaborate and lead cross-functional teams
  • You can work in a matrixed organization and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • You have sound judgment and can influence change
