Siemens Large Drive Applications (LDA) is the global market leader for drive systems with a future-proof drive technology portfolio, automation technology, digitization solutions and services. The spectrum spans the entire life cycle of drive systems: from design and engineering to modernization.

Now, LDA is on its way to more independence as a GmbH from 1st October onwards and so, we are seeking to hire a Head of Business Excellence & Information Technology (BE & IT) that will lead and drive a team of 6 professionals to implement strategic projects and initiatives in our business segment. 

With your team you will focus on transforming processes, foster cross-site and cross-functional collaboration, and harmonize and improve procedures and tools while coaching and training the mindset change towards a lean-agile, customer-, and value-oriented organization. All initiatives will be driven in a cross-functional set-up along with IT, factories, product management, and development teams.
The position will give you the opportunity to work with all corners of the business, to deliver innovation and process improvement, in order to raise effectiveness and efficiency in our organization.  

You will partner with business leaders to translate strategic priorities into transformation roadmaps and lead the execution of high priority projects for the business segment. You will educate and gain buy-in from key stakeholders concerning the adherence and utilization of processes to consistently ensure successful deployments.  Additionally, you will enable leadership to monitor the data trends necessary to measure efficiency and effectiveness and install necessary benchmarks and KPIs to ensure data integrity and maximum efficiency gains for the company. 

What part will you play?
  • Be a trusted advisor and coach for the business stakeholders to understand complex problems
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Business Excellence in SCM and/or PLM.
  • Proactively identifiy and resolve change management issues in collaboration with affected stakeholders to assure change adoption
  • Leverage problem solving by using Lean methods such as A3 or Value Stream mapping
  • Derive and implement lean strategy, guidelines and methodologies to achieve sustainable lean implementation for all departments and drive the corresponding change process
  • Furthermore, drive and coach Segment management in strategy alignment 
Your dedicated areas of responsibility.

  • Process Excellence, Global Support and Alignment
    • Definition of global Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategy and alignment as well as optimization and performance improvement
    • Support of best practice sharing between factories
    • Process management for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
    • Definition and monitoring of process and performance KPI’s
    • Monitoring of process compliance (e.g., support of process or quality audits)
    • Facilitation of digitized project controlling
    • Support of global harmonization and alignment initiatives (e.g., localization strategies, tool harmonization or lean implementation)
    • Facilitation of the digital transformation of our factories
    • Support and monitoring of factory performance programs
    • Moderation and organization of global alignment events and workshops 
  • IT and Core Tools
    • Demand management for critical tools and SW applications from a business perspective (Interface to IT organization)
    • IT strategy, roadmap and governance from a business perspective
    • Support of key users in critical IT applications
    • Management of global roll outs from business side 
    • Monitoring of IT cost and creation of transparency on users and tool coverage
    • Definition of the factories digitalization strategy
  • Lean-Agile Transformation and Change Management
    • Definition of lean-agile framework and standards
    • Provision of method competence (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, SCRUM, Kanban; SAFe,  Scaled Agile Framework for Lean Enterprises)
    • Change Management and coaching during agile transition (e.g., implementation of lean-agile principles and methods)
    • Development, implementation, and roll out of related trainings 
What you need to make real what matters.
  • You have gained a university degree or MBA with a business-related or technical-related topic; advantage would be to have practical experience in the field of drive technologies
  • You have long-term work experience in lean implementation either in development or manufacturing (or both) and experience in complex implementation projects allocated at different sites worldwide
  • You have experience in leading cultural change programs incl. buildup of change agent/multiplier networks
  • You also have disciplinary and functional leadership experience, especially in cross-functional teams
  • You have experience with process and quality audits
  • Ideally you have proven experience in implementing lean methods at management level (lean awareness training, management obeyas etc.) and with deriving functional strategies from the business strategy
  • The willingness to travel worldwide and fluency in German and English round your qualifications
