Account Development Specialist - Channel Development Group

Job Description

Siemens Industry Inc. is searching for an Account Development Specialist to call on and support our residential and commercial electrical distributors for the Siemens Infrastructure product portfolio. This Inside Sales position will report to the Channel Development Group Manager and have no direct reports. This role could also provide a great foundation and opportunity for the right candidate to pursue a Channel or Electrical Infrastructure Sales role in the future.

• Establishing growth and development strategies for assigned accounts in a focused market to achieve annual sales quota targets
• Coordinating and establishing strategic account business plans for all specified accounts in accordance with region channel strategies
• Delivering coordinated project bids / proposals to customers, while ensuring compliance to engineering plans and specs
• Providing technical and product application support and training
• Conducting quarterly account evaluations and business reviews to ensure the achievement of pre-determined sales and marketing goals
• Prospecting, developing and expanding new business opportunities and proactively focusing on converting competitor products with all assigned accounts
• Providing pre / post sales, order, and project support and management for assigned accounts
• Developing effective, streamlined internal process improvements within the sales cycle to achieve desired results
• Highlighting and providing opportunities for the electrical distributor to improve various capabilities and grow sales through training, consulting, etc.
• Training electrical distributors on the utilization of Siemens online tools, policies and processes to promote more effectiveness
• Managing the implementation of product promotions and key Siemens marketing programs and initiatives
• Coordinating with Region Channel Teams to establish strategic pricing strategies for customers in specific markets
• Assisting in the facilitation of product, application, process and policy training for newly hired employees

Required Knowledge / Skills, Education and Experience:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing preferred
• Minimum of 2 - 5 years of sales or customer facing experience in electrical construction, industrial or related industry is preferred (Will consider recent college grad with aspirations to further their careers in sales, product management, etc.)
• Strong technical sales background in the residential and / or commercial electrical distribution field
• Ability to read and interpret electrical consultant plans and specification documents
• Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrate strong presentation skills
• Be creative, assertive, well organized, detail oriented and have the ability to multi task
• Ability to effectively work with a wide range of customers, both internal and external
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
• Demonstrate the ability, discipline and willingness to work with proprietary web-based enterprise systems (CRM, Order Entry, Project Configurators, etc.)
• Must be willing and available to travel for company training, customer meetings, territory support meetings, etc.
