Electronics Test Tech

Job Description

General Requirements:

• Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
• Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams.
• Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems to component level.
• May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
• Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
• May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
• Completes manufacturing related studies and processes.
• Gathers and records production information; enters data into internal computer systems.
• May perform repair and retest for product and/or manufacturing facilities.
• Completes estimates of requirements arising from process changes.
• Resolves manufacturing or maintenance related problems affecting daily operations.
• May provide technical problem solving/troubleshooting support to a manufacturing environment.
• Performs troubleshooting for machine operations to determine parameters for improving efficiency in a production environment.


• Associates degree in Electronics or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Specialized skill training/certification may be required.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
• Ability to utilize power tools, hand tools, machinery, and equipment required to perform job.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry minimal weights from 2 to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to maintain mental focus for extended periods of time.
• Higher level of hand eye coordination.
• Ability to occasionally climb heights of 5 – 15 feet on a ladder.
• Ability to occasionally twist.

Working Environment and Conditions:

• This position requires working in the internal environment.
• This position requires working in an environment with reasonable minimum factory exposure to noise, chemicals, dust and fumes and with exposure to equipment or devices that could harm self or others.
