Then come and join our global team as Software solution architect (f/m/d) – hybrid work to define the architecture of a software platform that is used in all areas of Siemens Healthineers.

Choose the best place for your work - within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.

Together with your team, (about 20 colleagues from Slovakia and Germany), you will define the architecture of a software platform that is used in all areas of Siemens Healthineers.

It provides SW project teams with ready-to-integrate, comprehensive solutions for eight infrastructure engineering tasks: Hardware management, Operating system integration, Build automation support, Support production of systems, Cyber security management, Software upgrade in the field, Software update in the field, Proactive maintenance. The platform is used as a service seamlessly integrated in CI/CD pipelines with the following goals:

  • Frees up product development teams from regular infrastructure tasks
  • Speeds up development cycles
  • Avoids duplicate work


Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You will be finding solutions that fit the business environment in close contact with Siemens Healthineers product representatives producing state-of-art CT, MR & AX devices
  • You will take part in early definition of new use cases which can become features for our software platform
  • You will identify relevant, non-functional requirements, derive architectural solutions from the functional as well as non-functional requirements and coordinate these with the international, agile development teams
  • In our iterative development model, you will be responsible for the solution concepts developed and coordinate them with the internal customers
  • In addition to ensuring the feasibility of your solutions through prototypical development, you will also ensure their documentation
  • In collaboration with your colleagues, you will ensure architecture governance aligned with an agile working environment
  • Technical risk analyses are part of your output portfolio, as well as the development of an architecture roadmap and the management of technical debt
  • You present architectural solutions to management and relevant stakeholders
  • With your technological expertise, you coach colleagues from the development teams

Your qualifications and experience:

  • You have a university degree in computer science or a related engineering science
  • In addition, you have many years of relevant project experience as a software architect in an agile environment as well as profound experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery
  • You have comprehensive, practical knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies, .NET, C# and C++ as well as the modeling of systems using UML. Furthermore, knowledge in the development of medical devices is an advantage
  • Knowledge of principles of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Azure DevOps is an advantage


Your attributes and skills:

  • As you will be working with international colleagues and our work documents are in English, you will have to be business-fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Slovak or German is an advantage
  • You have excellent communication skills and creativity while at the same time maintaining high and sustainable quality standards, which are crucial for the future success of the business unit
  • A methodical approach and the ability to work in a team is essential
  • Cooperation expertise with Košice (Slovakia) is required in order to optimally support the development team there
