You will be working in the Grid Software Managed Applications and Services (MAS) business within Siemens Smart Infrastructure - responsible for delivering high accuracy metering solutions to help our UK customers measure and manage energy use.

We are recruiting candidates to join our Demand Planner apprenticeship scheme who want to make a difference and develop their skills in Demand / Inventory Planning.

As a Demand Planner working for Siemens MAS you will be responsible for determining the resource, capacity and materials requirements to deliver the national energy meter install and maintenance plans for the Consumer Business Unit, and to support the Smart metering deployment plan for the Retail Business Unit.

The Challenge:

Part of being an apprentice at Siemens means you get to work on real life projects whilst also being supported on a guided learning journey. This will be a 3 year apprenticeship where you will be put onto the Level 3 Supply Chain Practitioner standard.  

Here is how the programme works:

·       Years 1 - 3: Following your off-site induction week you will immediately begin integrating into the Siemens community. Based within Managed Applications and Services, at our Nottingham site, you will embark on a broad range of tasks helping you to develop demand and inventory management knowledge and experience.

·       You will continue to develop competence and skills in Demand Planning to work individually and with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, identify gaps in performance Vs plan and apply continuous improvement methodology.

·       You will develop a breadth of knowledge across the whole planning cycle: Providing input into business planning and the budgeting process to include the allocation of resources to maintain business service levels while minimizing operating costs.

·       You will develop your collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skillset throughout the learning journey.

·       You will also undertake your apprenticeship End Point Assessment in your final year.

Your learning will be supported throughout your programme by Siemens mentors and by one of our training partners who will be the apprenticeship provider.

Here is what you can make a difference in:

·       Responsible for in-depth data analysis, regular reporting, and management information reporting for to both internal and external stakeholders. Including:

o   Performance vs. Plan

o   Performance vs. KPIs

o   Forecasting and Scenario Planning

§  Visits and Completions

§  Resource and capacity

§  Materials Requirements

·       Work individually and with other teams to forecast, identify gaps in performance vs. plan and vs. KPIs, root cause and prioritise improvements.

·       Provide input into business planning and the budgeting process to include the allocation of resources to maintain business service levels while minimizing operating costs.

·       Lead forecast process improvements to determine the requirements for resource and inventory forecasts.

·       Ensure that existing processes are mapped and documented as standard work and are used as a baseline for future improvements.

·       Review existing processes and apply continuous improvement methodology, including streamlining reports and removing non-value adding elements.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

You will have achieved at least 5 GCSEs grade 5 or above including Maths and English Language and you will have achieved or be on track to achieve 3 A Levels – preferred subjects include Maths, English, Economics, and Business studies (or a Supply Chain related qualification, including CIPS, APICS, IoSCM, CILT).
