Portfolio Development Executive (Automotive Embedded Sorftware)

Job Description

This position will advocate and drive the development of allocated portfolio domains by identifying a clear target market and go-to-market strategy and the execution of campaign and initiative-centered strategies to leverage and maximize software revenue & opportunities.

The position requires an understanding of current automotive market trends, in areas such as Electric Vehicle, AD/ADAS, and Digital Cockpits. A key activity is to identify potential customer opportunities, and to work closely with other Siemens colleagues to establish and maintain customer relationships. 

• Represent Siemens DISW Automotive Imbedded Software strategy and capabilities to the marketplace.

• Develop business strategies for Automotive imbedded software align with country plan.

• Establish and track measurable goals for monitoring portfolio growth against each campaign/initiative and • provide campaign and initiative owners feedback on content and lessons learned.

• Translate solution value statements into opportunity specific propositions, addressing current emerging customer needs, and demonstrate measurable impact on customers’ business performance.

• Develop opportunities, and support the execution of these to achieve sales and opportunity growth objectives

• Maintain a Portfolio Execution Plan for the Automotive imbedded software portfolio and provide regular reports against agreed metrics, showing progress against strategy, risks, challenges, key suspects, and opportunities to deliver to plan.

• In collaboration with global colleagues assigned to the same portfolio domain, capture lessons learned and provide regular feedback to global owners of campaigns and initiatives, providing insights into what is working, what is not working, and why.

What are my responsibilities?

• Understand and fully align with the Interlock process defining approved campaigns and initiatives for delivery at all levels within the organization as they relate to the allocated portfolio domain, and align with Global and Zone counterparts.

• Identify key opportunities for the country, defining the industry, geography, and target accounts for portfolio development projects

• Create a comprehensive Go-to Market strategy for the Automotive imbedded software domain and identify appropriate approaches for delivering the strategy based on the target market definition.

• Act as a thought leader and champion of business transformation within the Automotive imbedded software domain, maintaining an understanding of the latest technical and industry trends and transferring knowledge to drive organizational sales maturity and portfolio growth.

• Support the portfolio business units on long-term strategic value proposition and industry positioning of each portfolio element while also demonstrating thought leadership by explaining and defending this positioning in front of customers and at public events.


What do I need to qualify for this job?

• Bachelor or Master degree preferred, preferably in the electronics, engineering or software arena

• Minimum 5 years experience of the Automotive electronics industry, which can include Infotainment Systems, Driver Information, ECU Design, Vehicle Network or Autonomous and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

• A successful track record in market development or sales in the automotive sector 

• Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding personal quota. This requires building and managing an opportunity pipeline to successfully achieve sales goals.

• Strong prospecting and business development skills, as well as the ability to build business relationships and achieve “trusted advisor” status.

• An understanding of Software Architectures used in ECU design, covering AUTOSAR, RTOS, Linux and other embedded technologies will be needed.

• Some knowledge of Embedded Systems design processes,  and the ability to abstract technical details to highlight USPs and apply these to a customer’s requirements

• Strong, long standing relationships with key automotive executives within your territory.

• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

• Ability and flexibility to travel up to 60%
