Assembles, modifies, tests, and adjust settings to different types of circuit breakers with the use of mechanical/electrical tools and testing equipment.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

·       High School diploma or equivalent.  

·       Basic computer skills, and use of basic mechanical and electrical tools.

·       Abilities

·       Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language

·       Must be able to reach, grasp, lift 50 lbs , and push/pull/slide heavy material

·       Must be able to make coordinated movements of the hands and arms to grasp and move objects.

·       Must be able to stand for duration of shift, also must be able to occasionally stoop, bend, squat, crawl, and climb.

·       Must be at least 18 years of age.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·       Scans in and out of work orders (with the use of computers, scanning devices, etc.) in adherence to the production schedule or expedited orders

·       Reads and interprets documents associated with the completion of circuit breaker modification (e.g. bill of materials, blue prints, etc.).

·       Operates tools and equipment common to the mechanical and electrical trades (e.g. wire strippers, power tools, breaker testers, etc.).

·       Disassembles/reassembles breaker units to add, remove, adjust, or replace parts.

·       Installs, routes, and connects wires in accordance to specifications.

·       Puts together unit subassemblies (e.g. electronic trip units ‘ETU’, cradles, shutters, etc.).

·       Marks/labels wires and parts with identifying information and/or attaches identifying tags.

·       Programs breaker ETU’s and sets safety settings.

·       Conducts circuit breaker testing (e.g. mechanical, electrical, primary injection).

·       Performs product quality checks to verify conformance with specifications.

·       Reports non-conforming items (e.g. unserviceable parts, breakers not modified properly, etc.).

·       Cleans and maintains equipment and work area to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions. Performs other work as directed by supervision.
