Siemens Smart Infrastructure, Electrical Products (EP) team are recruiting for an innovative and forward-thinking Product Manager, with a focus on Low-voltage Control & Switchgear.

The EP team encompasses one of the largest portfolios of products within the entire Siemens organisation… from the humble Contactor to a large Air Circuit Breaker. Utilising a growth mindset, whilst focusing on ‘the big three’ topics of today’s world – Decarbonisation, Digitalisation & Decentralisation; the Siemens Electrical products and systems are designed to help us find solutions which will make the world a smarter place for tomorrow.

This is your role. What part will you play?

The EP Product Manager will take ownership of a portion of the Siemens SENTRON product portfolio.

The role will involve successful promotion & sustainable growth strategy for SENTRON components to the UK market, alongside Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) responsibility for British Standard certified LV switchgear. The role will heavily support the Business Development teams in the field, for both Infrastructure & Industry.

Key tasks and duties, include, but are not restricted to:

  • Provision of technical support to external and internal customers.
  • Full responsibility for Product Lifecycle Management of product range.
  • Interface and co-ordination between Sales & Marketing, R&D & SCM.
  • UK interface with HQ (Germany) to manage new product introductions and range enhancements.
  • Account management responsibility for any identified strategic accounts.
  • Responsibility for the maintenance and development of market-level pricing activities.
  • The position will require ongoing job assessment and reviews as the tasks and strategy develop with time, as we seek to increase the product range and solidify the Siemens market position.
  • Achievement of business targets.
  • Example measures: Sales performance of specific product lines, New Product Introductions via the Siemens PLM process, and Strategic Product Roadmap reviews.

The role is predominantly based at our head office in Manchester, whilst the possibility to take advantage of a brilliant flexible working policy which encourages remote working when appropriate, is also offered.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

·       Higher National Certificate (HNC) / HND / Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or suitable recognised qualification.

·       Experience and knowledge of electrical engineering, focusing on Low-voltage Control / Switchgear

·       Knowledge of current and anticipated industry standards. i.e., IEC 60947

·       Commercial experience in a customer focused environment

·       Excellent product application knowledge

·       A team work ethic and responsive to time pressure and customer deadlines

·       An ability to work in a developing environment and to be adaptable to change

·       Excellent communication and presentation skills
