Position Overview:

Siemens Industry is looking for a Project Manager for their Russelectric Research & Development Team working out of the Hingham, MA location. In this role you will be responsible for managing R&D projects in support of the Russelectric product portfolio roadmap for Low & Medium Voltage Automatic Transfer Switches, Low Voltage Bypass Switches, Low & Medium Voltage Paralleling Switchgear and Low Voltage Controls. This role is responsible for the successful project management and execution of PLM projects that will drive future revenue, lower cost, improve supply chain resiliency, improve manufacturability, improve market share, and/or comply with industry standards. This role will report to the Manger of R&D for the Russelectric segment in the Electrical Products business unit of Siemens Infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages projects with full responsibility for project results in the context of research and development.
  • Drives R&D projects in cooperation with stakeholders, especially with Product Management.
  • Supports cross-functional collaboration within the team and beyond. Ensures transparency on work items and progress in team.
  • Performs risk and opportunity management.
  • Steers budget and resources, as well as generation of the project agreement.
  • Executes project within the defined requirements regarding targets for project cost, project schedule, product cost, product functionality and quality.
  • Ensures appropriate Project documentation. Creates and manages approval workflows. Initiates and facilitates any required Out-Of-Bounds reviews. Ensures timely decisions about open issues, escalating if necessary.
  • Ensures adherence to architecture, design, quality guidelines as well as product security and product safety topics. Manages and ensures compliance to standards, working laws, rules and regulations, intellectual property rights.
  • Drives a continuous improvement culture including reuse, cooperation, knowledge management, lessons learned. Actively participates in collecting and sharing best practices and incorporates customer feedback during project execution.
  • Drives the search for opportunities of own intellectual properties and ensures alignment with patent strategy.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, BS Engineering preferred however a business or marketing degree is acceptable with several years of experience in the electrical industry.
  • 2-4 years project management experience, working with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS-Office applications and project scheduling software.
  • Detail oriented, analytical thinker combined with strong organizational skills.
  • Team oriented personality who can support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Siemens PLM Process preferred
  • PMP Certification is a plus
  • MBA and/or finance experience is a plus
  • Travel required will be less than 10%.
