Plant Operations Manager - Large Drives

The Plant Operations Management role has full P&L responsibility and full operations responsibility for the New Kensington Drives factory. You will be responsible for multiple functions including Production, Quality, EH&S, Customer Order Engineering, Order Management, Materials Planning, Logistics and Facilities. Critical organizational interfaces for this leadership role include Sales & Marketing, People & Organization, Global Procurement, Finance, Product Development and Product Management.

What You’ll Do:
  • Ensure the safety and sustainability of the workforce, vendors, customers and sites
  • Act as a champion for diversity, employee involvement, sustainability, communications and organizational change
  • Ensure excellent customer satisfaction by providing products & services from the factory timely, and with the highest quality
  • Achieve accurate cost position in the factory through:
  • continuous improvement
  • optimized inventory turns
  • minimal non-conformance costs
  • high utilization, efficiency and productivity
  • accurate planning and controlling of budgets and expenses
  • excellent employee engagement and employee relations
  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of business operations and develop appropriate operational and people strategies to transform into a World Class Operation
  • Develop & mentor the management and leadership team to take on new and greater challenges
  • Communicate effectively in verbal and written communications to shop-floor employees, leadership, customers and executive management
  • Acts as advisor to troubleshoot and resolve sophisticated problems across multiple departments and cross-functional areas
  • Demonstrate leadership for process improvement approach (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, Cost, Asset Management, Delivery Reliability and Quality)
  • Demonstrate effective oversite of supplier management
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and processes

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years of manufacturing operations experience with successful roles across production, supervision, engineering, quality, safety and materials
  • SAP or other ERP, Excel, Access, Root Cause Analysis (FMEA and other Lean/Quality Tools)
  • Sophisticated understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, and performance management.
  • Experience in enclosure/panel manufacturing is helpful.
  • About 10-15% travel may be required, visiting customers, suppliers or partners
