Lean Continuous Improvement Leader

As a Continuous Improvement Leader your primary responsibility will be to apply Lean principles and drive improvements into various areas of the business such as Engineering, Project Management, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.

What you will be doing:
  • Facilitating workshops and events to identify improvements and developing action plans to improve workflow and make processes more effective and efficient
  • Leading and planning the implementation of improvements and driving them for results
  • Applying Lean and six sigma methods such as Structured Problem Solving or Value Stream Mapping to facilitate and lead groups through analysis and improvement planning
  • Analyzing and improving administrative and transaction-based processes to identify sources of waste and productivity improvements for increased efficiency and cost savings
  • Capturing and analyzing data to monitor, improve and measure processes to targets
  • Improve visual management and KPI reporting systems to enable effective management of results areas
  • Coaching, building and growing skills and capabilities of others in Lean methods and Continuous improvement
  • Tracking and reporting improvement projects and associated results
What you will need to be successful:
  • B.S. or greater in a related engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A passion for Continuous Improvement
  • Experience with Six Sigma/LEAN concepts required
  • 5+ years successful lean implementation experience with proven record of sustainable results
  • Prior knowledge and practical experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting with a strong focus in Lean Manufacturing operations
  • Experience driving continuous improvement by identifying and eliminating waste using applicable tools and analysis
  • Experience utilizing and analyzing data to follow processes and conduct problem-solving
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate activities across multiple disciplines
  • Strong communication skills—written, verbal and the ability to listen intently
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10% to other locations
Preferred skills:
  • Six Sigma green or black belt preferred
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment & communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and aptitude
  • Proactive and creative with the ability to be a hands-on change agent
  • Self-motivated with the ability to “think on your feet” and a “can do” approach to work
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, computer and basic business skills
  • SAP
