Job Title: Business Development Manager
Department: Digital Industry Process Automation BU VM WWW (Water &Waste Water)
Location: Shanghai

Responsible for driving DI PA AE(Process Automation Automation Engineering)/Digital Connectivity and Powe (DCP) Business in VM WWW (Water & Waste Water)& support Digital Industry (DI) sales units in implementing VM WWW related branch mid- to long-term business strategies (e.g. Masterplan) further develop market opportunities in the industry w/ strong emphasis on Process Automation (PA AE / DCP).

Report to: Business Development Team Leader/Section Manager
Internal Contacts: VM WWW HQ, Sales, CoC, PM, TS, DE-L, OEC etc.
External Contacts: DI/SI/EPC, End user, OEM, Distributor, Panel Builder, Associations

What are my main responsibilities?

1. Business Development

• Responsible to fulfill VM SBTA & implement VM related strategy programs (e.g. Country Concept, Masterplan) for PA AE / DCP
• Business knowledge supporting to SU, coach project capture, vertical knowledge exchange & knowledge transfer from HQ to BU, CoC, SU
• Identify & implement growth levers (e.g. new customers / applications; cross-selling) for area of responsibility

2 Strategic Planning / Reporting & Market Intelligence

• Be responsible for VM reporting & Sales Excellence in own field of responsibility
• Be responsible for assigned PA certified SI/SoP, define industry SI development strategy (with PTM SI)
• Business Transparency on focused process equipment in Water and Wastewater on DI level
• Support for vertical market intelligence by organizing vertical research incl. competitor transparency

3. Marketing / Promotion & Digitalization

• Promote Digitalization Concept and Tools in VM WWW such as DPS
• Support Solution and Digitalization team from Leads to opportunities in early phase
• Support for Vertical Market Promotion (external and internal market event, seminar, workshop, advertisement etc.)
• Setup capture team for selected target projects, take leader role in the acquisition, ensure one voice to customer by efficient teamwork, Win/Loss Analysis
• Ad hoc tasks assigned by superior

What do I need to qualify for this job?

• Bachelor or above in STEM related field, engineering degree will be a plus
• 5 years or above experience in Sales, Business Development or Product Lifecycle Management or related job is preferred
• Knowledge of DI PA AE, PA DCP portfolio; knowledge of DI FA will be a plus
• Systematic working methodology & strategic thinking; knowledge of partner management & Sales Processes
• Good communication competency with different departments and external partners
• Fluent oral and writing English, German language knowledge will be a plus
• Proficient in MS office software, graphic and video editing will be a plus
• Open minded, self-driven, flexible, conscientious, willing to learn
• Travel needed
