Overview

Siemens Grand Prairie, TX is looking for an Application Engineer to assist in growing the plant and sales. This position requires working with the sales organization and the various plants to quote Quickship low voltage switchboard and power panel opportunities. The candidate would be required to interface with sales both via e-mail and phone, and review quotations in COMPAS. Candidate should have strong technical product knowledge of power distribution equipment as well as understanding of material constraints and be prepared to offer alternatives when material is unavailable. Additionally, an understanding of product complexity and the capability of each SWBD board plant is imperative, as well as an overall ability to evaluate current plant loading and available capacity.

What you will do:
Responsibilities include the review of switchboard and power panel quotations/configurations for Quickship potential. Requires ability to technically review configuration for manufacturability and compliance with applicable codes and standards with minimal support. Also, requires frequent interaction with the sales community and distributor partners, in addition to frequent interaction and collaboration with other internal departments.
Working with SAP, Microsoft Applications, and company specific configuration software.

What you will need:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or previous experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
2. Ability to work with sales, taking a collaborative approach to create a winning quote.
3. Experience in a customer facing role or has the desire to take on a role with that responsibility.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
5. Ability to work in a fast paced environment individually as well as in a team.
6. Knowledge of and/or work experience with low voltage power distribution equipment is preferred.
7. SAP experience is a plus but not required.
