Position Overview:

Siemens Industry is looking for an Electrical Standards Engineer for their Russelectric products to work out of the Hingham, MA location. You will be part of a team that manages electrical standards for the Russelectric portfolio that includes Low & Medium Voltage Automatic Transfers Switches, Low Voltage Bypass Switches, Low & Medium Voltage Paralleling Switchgear and Low Voltage Controlgear. In this role you will be responsible for the creation and support of electrical drawing and documentation standards. You will work alongside others in the Electrical Standards team to maintain existing and create new electrical schematic and layout standards using electrical design software such as Zuken E3, Promise Connect, and AutoCAD. As part of your work, you will evaluate new parts, enter part records and UL information, and develop schematic and wiring symbols.

Essential Functions:

  • Creating and maintaining standards for Schematics and Wiring Diagrams as well as System Descriptions and Bill of Materials.
  • Creating and maintaining parts and symbols used in standards or production orders.
  • Provides support and training to others within the Engineering department.
    Communicates effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Provide an estimated completion schedule for every project and assignment.
  • Complete all projects in a timely manner.
  • participates in the continuous improvement of the department or group standards.
  • Involved in the development and maintenance of process and workflow systems for Engineering and other departments (Sales, Mechanical, Programming, Purchasing, etc.).


  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or Applicable field) or equivalent combination of formal education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring prints, point lists, and other documentation.
  • Experience in the design of electrical power control circuits. Experience with Automatic Transfer Switch control is desirable but not required.
  • Experience with CAD Software (Zuken E3, AutoCAD, Promis∙e), Microsoft Word, Excel, Access.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
