Siemens Mobility Ltd help to solve the problems of increasing traffic by working with railway operators to improve the capacity, punctuality, and security of their systems. We also ensure that the carbon footprint produced by transportation is kept to a minimum. Within our Mobility division, you will be part of a team helping to design solutions and systems which have a real impact on the real world.

We are recruiting school and college leavers to join our Engineering Apprenticeship scheme who want to make a difference and develop their skills in the world of Engineering.

We are offering a variety of different engineering-based apprenticeship schemes across Rail Infrastructure - Rail Electrification that will sit within the following disciplines:

  • Product Manufacture
  • Project Management 

You will be asked to specify within your application which of these areas are preferred, but there will be an option to select all.

The Challenge:

• Maintain a professional standard of conduct at all times, reflecting Siemens’ company values and safety standards.
• Attend college as required to obtain relevant technical qualifications.
• Undertake training (provided by the company) to increase competence in specialist areas.
• Use common small tools relevant to activities you will be carrying out.
• Use common computer software packages (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel) for the production of standard reports or documentation.
• Attend UK rail sites to undertake work as requested.
• Support continuous improvement to company processes and methods of working.

The Candidate:

• You will have achieved or be on track to achieve at least 5 GCSEs including Maths and English.
• Good IT skills (specifically MS Office)
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

What else do I need to know?

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday. However, the nature of an operational role in the railway industry is such that you may be occasionally required to work at night or at the weekend.
