Business Development Executive - CAE Simulation for Auto and Transportation - REMOTE

Job Description

This is a great opportunity to move into a customer facing business development role. You will be focused on accounts in the automotive and transportation market as a specialist in simulation and testing solutions. While this is not a direct sales position, it does require a sales minded approach to be successful. 

You will be expected to hunt for new business and further develop existing accounts to drive revenue for our simulation products. Your job will be drive the growth of the Simcenter simulation portfolio at specific key accounts as well as creating demand/new opportunities and continue to build our SMB market with the help of our Channel partners. 

This role calls for a balance of drive, influence skills, collaboration and understanding of the engineering and business needs of our customers. You must be able to work well under pressure, have high confidence and interpersonal awareness and be willing and able to partner effectively with numerous stakeholders, deliver impact under tight deadlines, and must be flexible yet focused on the core goals.


• Pipeline development and cold calling
• Outreach via LinkedIn and other networking approaches
• Collaboration with Sales, Technical support and Engineering services
• Develop strategy, tactics, plans to grow our Simcenter footprint in North America at key accounts with relevant resources
• Drive revenue to meet our AMZ zone business goals
• Assist in developing our Simcenter channel partners and SMB market
• Drive appropriate sales/marketing campaigns that align with our customers business goals
• Determine how to define, drive, and demonstrate the value (ROI) of our Xcelerator message and SImcenter portfolio.

  • Must have technical knowledge in CAE simulation or a history of selling CAE simulation tools
  • Specifically - 1D System Analysis, 3D Modeling & Meshing, CFD, FEA or NVH analysis
  • 5+ years as inside sales, business development, marketing or pre-sales experience
  • BA/BS degree; ME/EE preferred
  • Strong communication and follow up skills
  • Highly motivated and outgoing - enjoys meeting and talking to people
  • Ability to travel up to 50%• Demonstrated success in sales/business development
  • US citizen or permanent resident.  Work location flexible within the US. 


  • Understanding and knowledge of the competitive simulation landscape - i.e – ABACAS, ALTAIR, ANSYS, Dassault, Gamma, and MSC
  • Demonstrated success in sales/business development
  • Understanding and basic knowledge of the competitive simulation landscape


Act as a trusted advisor to our customers both internal and external

• Partner with the sales, technical resources, services, product management etc. to define Simulation growth strategies at key accounts
