Position Overview

Design network solutions for EV charging infrastructure in residential and commercial sites (Including fleet management). This role will provide network engineering, cyber security guidance, performance analysis, and system design support. 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to new product development teams as the subject matter expert for networking standards compliance relevant for EVSE Infrastructure
  • Evaluate performance issues in high scale networked EVSE solutions
  • Upgrade and maintain security mechanisms in product software and hardware
  • Design network scenarios for optimum product performance in multiple customer installation needs.
  • Maintain current network solution within energy sites including compliance
  • Collect requirements, analyze, and propose solutions for network and IOT solutions
  • Confirm network design solution via test/validation and maintain networking services remotely at beta sites.
  • Conduct product POC evaluation of networking scenarios leveraging beta sites
  • Monitor, analyze, and report metrics of system performance while operating with multiple cloud back-ends and large-scale data
  • Perform Cyber security risk assessment for the product
  • Create hardware and software design requirements to comply with current Cyber security standards
  • Generate and maintain comprehensive reports of their findings, recommendations, and changes implemented to aid in Cyber security audits and certifications
  • Responsible for product design compliance to IOT based cyber security standards for EVSEs
  • Participate in Cyber security standard committees to plan for product roadmaps
  • Analyze and interpret compliance requirements from multiple sources, with consideration for regional and carrier differences.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are integrated into product design scopes through coordination, documentation, and communication with development teams.
  • Stay up to date on new and changing wireless/radio compliance regulations and standards. Actively participate in relevant manufacturing and trade associations or other external networks as needed
  • Evaluate and qualify new LTE carriers and perform interoperability

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelors with 5-8 years experience in EE or CSE
  • At least 5 years experience in Network solutions and Cyber security
  • Experience in Linux based networking
  • Wireless protocols such as BLE, LoRA, ISA100.11a, Zigbee, Thread, low-power WiFi
  • Experienced in both RTOS based (eg FreeRTOS) and non-RTOS based firmware systems (eg embedded Linux)
  • Mesh network protocols for routing and self-organization.
  • Knowledge of wireless encryption technologies
  • Experience with Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX and Palo Alto Networks firewall services including IPSEC VPN, URL filtering, and IDS/IPS.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and certification process for wireless consumer devices, for various wireless technologies like GSM/UMTS/LTE, 802.11xx, Wi-Fi, RFID, and Bluetooth.
  • Wireless protocols such as BLE, LoRA, ISA100.11a, Zigbee, Thread, low-power WiFi
  • Experienced in both RTOS based (eg FreeRTOS) and non-RTOS based firmware systems (eg embedded Linux)

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelors in Electrical engineering with 2-5 years experience
  • Experience in design, development and testing of Electrical systems
  • Experience with various tools such as Protocol Analyzer, SNMP, Netflow, IPAM, RADIUS, Splunk, network taps, SPAN ICS scanners (CyberVision, Clarory, Teneble, etc.), and load/stress testing.
