Functional Design/Verification Applications Engineer Intern
Currently we’re recruiting for our Spring 2023 Functional Design/Verification Applications Engineering Intern. Our student positions will allow you to find a career path that most inspires you. Here, you will apply your education to solve real-world problems, and turn theory into practice. Preference would be for a full-time candidate, but we will consider a part-time option as well. At SiemensEDA, our goal is to empower our students to become the next leaders of our company.
As a part of the Functional Verification AE team, you will work alongside senior engineers to collaborate and complete assigned tasks. The primary focus of this 8–10-week internship will be on developing a demo/tutorial that focuses on leveraging an advanced verification management / coverage analysis solution and common methodology for linting as well as detecting clock domain crossing issues in FPGA/ASIC designs. It will also include documenting and presenting the demo/utility at the end of the internship. With this project the intern will have the opportunity to learn and understand the various technologies and concepts involved in design/verification.
Baseline Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering student
  • Taken courses in hardware description languages Verilog/System Verilog/VHDL and preferably UVM
  • Solid understanding of hardware design and verification concepts
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Willingness to learn new technologies
  • Good written and communication skills
  • Available to work in a remote/WFH environment for Spring 2023
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with EDA tools for hardware design and verification flows in VLSI design
  • Experience of scripting like Python, Perl, make or Tcl scripts
  • Completed design/verification projects
  • Ability to analyze tool data/material and present it in a succinct manner
