What will you do?

As System Presales Support Engineer, you will provide Application Engineering Support for Digital Industries (DI) solutions with a focus on Factory Automation and Motion Control.

Functionally reporting to the Territory Direct Manager, you will play an instrumental role in technically supporting the pre and post sales activities for the DI Business in BELUX. You will be operating with an expected level of professionalism, while displaying passion about exceeding customer expectations and working with a sense of urgency. You will be working closely with the Siemens Sales Organization, Potential End-Customers, Integrators and Panel Builders to demonstrate technical features and benefits of Siemens DI portfolio.

More concretely, you will:

  • Understand the added value and service offerings while partnering with customers to further understand their needs and provide them with a consultative technical solution and develop proof of concept System architecture and Recommended Parts list.
  • Develop the ability to understand and influence customers and system integrators on the utilization of DI products.
  • Develop and deliver demonstrations and technical presentations.
  • Work with the sales representatives to understand business opportunities and be the technical go to person regarding these opportunities.
  • After analyzing and understanding the needs of our customers in the industry and their prerequisites, demonstrate the value of our solutions and carry out demonstrations relevant to customer issues.
  • Participate in the drafting of RFPs (request for proposal) in collaboration with the Sales teams.
  • Take full technical responsibility for business opportunities: demos, benchmarks, responses to tenders, quotes, and marketing activities.
  • As a privileged technical interlocutor, work closely with customers and after-sales support to facilitate and assist the deployment of solutions and their implementation, including intervention on user training.
  • Support sales activities through customer interaction, including demonstrations and hands-on evaluations.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics and/or Computer Science preferred.
  • Industry Engineering experience on automated production.
  • Strong knowledge of Industrial applications, ideally in industries such as OEMs or System Integration.
  • Be able to size the Factory Automation & Motion Control applications based on application requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in Industrial Automation Platforms, Industrial networks, Factory Automation and Drives and Motion.
  • PLC Programming and/or Computer Programming Language experience (ie. LAD, Structured Text, STL, C++, Javascript, Visual Basic, etc).
  • Experience with Electrical Design would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills along with proven ability to provide technical training in Dutch, English and French.
