Materials Analyst

You will be responsible for ensuring that materials are always available to support the production plan.

As well as maintaining the appropriate management processes to drive operational excellence, you will work closely with the operations team to challenge current processes and drive continuous improvement.

As a Material Analyst you will be responsible for:

  • Manage stock levels, ensuring good availability of materials at lineside to support the production plan whilst taking costs and space into account.
  • Participate in AVM meetings. Communicate any issues and work towards sustainable solutions.
  • Pro-actively control stock levels to meet agreed targets.
  • Manage master data effectively, selecting appropriate methods to control stock levels (lots sizes, min/max levels, safety stocks, kanban etc)
  • Maintain good supplier relationships including regular, structured vendor meetings
  • Support the change management process, effectively dealing with phasing in and phasing out of materials, end of life and ramp up of new products
  • Drive continuous improvement, with cross-functional teams, using state-of-the-art digital tools
  • Comply with business processes. Follow and maintain Work Instructions and follow agreed processes for control and management of stock.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • Highly motivated, independent and a self-starter
  • A solid understanding of Logistics concepts (MRP, JIT, Kanban etc.)
  • Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate across functional divisions and hierarchies
  • Sound understanding of LEAN principles and methods
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office products, ideally including Microsoft Power Platform
  • Understanding of SAP modules for both transactional and reporting
