Position Overview

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing inventory processes, inspecting inventory, maintaining accurate records, and reporting. This role is part of a dedicated warehouse team supporting the manufacturing facility in Pomona, CA. This position is expected to cross-train in all materials processes to best support operational requirements as assigned and to actively engage in applicable SAP transitions. Additionally, the selected candidate will bring value add to the current processes and will align with the requirements of the manufacturing floor. This position reports to the Manufacturing and Logistics Manager.


A successful candidate would be….

- Deliberate collaborator Develops and provide inventory reports to Purchasing, Manufacturing and Logistics teams, Partner with the financial team to generate accurate finance reports. Develop and maintain good working relationships with all the stakeholders (Plant Staff)
- Solution and process focused Monitors and verify proper inventory transactions, maintain proper inventory levels based on company demands. - Identifies opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in the logistics function/tools/resources.
- Problem Solver and Innovative identify and address inventory issues provide solutions to slow-moving inventory and display initiative in developing solutions to improve inventory management
- Trusted planner Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made, completes month end closings of operational requirements for cost capture, billing, and backlog.
- Task oriented -Doer by maintaining the organization’s inventory through facilitation and adherence with company policies and procedures, organizing regular stock maintenance and inventory in the storage areas, and maintaining inventory accuracy through implementation and maintenance of cycle count program (Validating proper counting practices, reconciliation and developing inventory reports)
- Performs other related duties as assigned


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree is strongly desired, although a combination of education (HS Diploma or GED equivalency is a minimum requirement) and directly related work experience will also be considered.
• 3 years vocational training or 3 years practical experience needed
• Proficient with SAP ERP – minimum 2 years experience
• SAP MM module transaction experience
• Basic understanding of inventory control procedures
• Proficient with Microsoft suite, (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
• Experience with computerized inventory systems
• Ability to perform math calculations
• Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors
• Lift objects up to 50lbs on occasion (bend, reach, walk, stand for extended periods)

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• 3 years vocational training and 3 years practical experience
• Lean certification
• Leadership and/or administrative experience
• Current forklift operation training/certificate
