Bogie Service Centre Manager (Full time or Part time)

Siemens are recruiting for a Bogie Service Centre Manage to join their Bogie Overhaul Centre in Lincoln. This role is responsible for the production of components, products and systems while observing delivery dates, quality standards and cost estimates. You will achieve maximum efficiency and productivity through continuous improvement of processes, technologies, and competences. Optimal product life cycle support through close cooperation and coordination with interface partners (for example, Project Management, Purchasing & Logistics).

This is your role. What part will you play?

  • Operational responsibility for planning (capacity, deadlines, personnel, area / space, stocks, overhead costs, and investments), execution, monitoring and continuous improvement of a production area while adhering to deadline quality and cost and EHS targets.
  • Ensure the delivery of components / products / systems / systems to the customer (s) at competitive costs and in line with the market requirements.
  • Further development and innovation in the field of responsibility, to be able to meet existing and future customer requirements even better.
  • Collaboration with other Siemens businesses and responsible management of the site as well as cooperation with external partners.
  • Ensure specific contractual and customer requirements are met, participating in internal contract reviews.
  • Interaction with support functions and key suppliers to ensure on time delivery of material and services, participating in performance reviews when required.
  • Implement safe systems and controls within your area of responsibility
  • Communicate health and safety responsibilities to your team (or virtual team) and ensure employees raise issues and participate in implementation of agreed changes.
  • Engage with EHS team to agree targets and priorities to communicate and cascade to team.
  • Demonstrate competence and development in all the Siemens Management Standards and Siemens Leadership capabilities.

What qualifications, knowledge & experience will you need?


  • In-depth knowledge of Maintenance techniques and procedures
  • Experience of managing and leading multifunctional teams in a production, fast moving or complex environment
  • Engineering Qualification/Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Contract, commercial and budget management experience
  • Experience of negotiating with workplace representatives
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and principles


  • Bogie / Wheelset introduction
  • Previous experience of managing P&L
  • IOSH/ NEBOSH certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent experience Understanding of industry maintenance best practice
