Job Description

We are the biggest electric motor manufacturing plant in Europe. The production of electric motors is specific - it is a combination of honest human work and the latest technologies. Today, we have over 2 000 employees and more than 2 300 different machines and equipment units at the Mohelnice plant. We produce around a million electric motors per year, predominantly according to the individual requirements of our customers from all over the world. You area of responsibility

  • Development of low voltage motors applying the latest technologies by permanent enhancement of the development environment through intensive use of simulation
  • Intensive use of magnetic and mechanical design simulation tools in motor development to optimize overall motor design and accelerate new product launches
  • Disciplinary employee management and personnel responsibility for more than 30 R&D employees at the Mohelnice site and promote growth mindset within the organization
  • Part of escalation team solving potential technical product issues
  • Being a part of the global Low Voltage Motors R&D team implementing the R&D and segment strategy as well as the overall strategy of the business unit based on existing and new motor platforms

Your objectives and main tasks

  • Drive innovations in technology or research activities in worldwide collaboration with other functions and departments to ensure Siemens' technological leadership
  • R&D project execution in collaboration with international cross-functional teams
  • Drive the development of low voltage motors and solutions and/or services based on existing or new platforms that are timely and competitive in the market
  • Drive cross-functional and segment alignment for R&D topics
  • Consistent implementation of R&D projects within the planned time, target cost, quality and in compliance with the planned R&D budget
  • Drive continuous improvement and productivity within own scope and cross-functionally, share best practices and lessons learned across business unit
  • Intensive cooperation and coordination with the motor plant in Mohelnice
  • Ensure business success and customer satisfaction as well as professional stakeholder management
  • Ensure compliance with specified architecture, design, guidelines, and product safety and hazard prevention
  • Drive the ideas and measures improving product competitiveness (Design to Cost)

You should have

  • Completed technical degree in physics, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering
  • Professional experience in the technical products development environment with lean agile development teams and processes
  • Experience in leading global development teams, transforming organizations and processes, and respective budget responsibility
  • Leadership skills: Entrepreneurial thinking, giving and receiving feedback, driving innovation and change, analytical problem solving and decision making
  • Personal skills: Communication, driving of results, creativity and innovation methods, teamwork and collaboration, fostering a growth mindset and conflict management
