System Configuration Engineer or System Administrator

As a System Configuration Engineer or System Administrator in Curitiba – PR, you will provide the overall Configuration Management (CM) infrastructure and environment to the product development teams, based on different system environments used for advanced Power Systems software applications and integration.

The position requires effective use and administration of configuration management tools, support the product development activity (Design, Development, Test, Deployment, and Maintenance) so that developers and integrators have appropriate workspaces to build and test their work, and so that all artifacts are available for inclusion in the deployment unit as required. In addition, this position will support development teams with builds, server deployments, continuous integration, system administration, virtualization and heterogeneous network integration, in order to release high quality customer commercial software projects delivered on schedule, within budget and meets or exceeds customer satisfaction expectations. 👏

Your challenges

• Install, configure, and maintain operating system servers in support of business requirements;

• Perform software installations and upgrades to hardware and operating system software;

• Maintain and manage source code using Clearcase and Git;

• Perform product software builds and installations in a multiserver environment;

• System Administration for project development environment;

• Assist software developers in a project development environment;

• Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels;

• Work with customers directly to support development and production environments;

• Direct communication with software team and project management.

What we need from you

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineer or related field;

• 4+ years of relevant work experience as System Configuration Manager for Software Engineering, Project Deployment or R&D solutions;

• Experience with version control software like: ClearCase (UCM) and Git as an administrator;

• Experience with RHEL, Windows Server and Unix/Linux system administration;

• Experience with shell script;

• Experience with Release Management Processes/Change Management Processes (Developing, Implementing, Managing, Automating);

• Experience with development environments and tools;

• Experience with Database management and administration, including tuning, troubleshooting and backup/restore procedures;

• Experience with build automation software;

• Experience with agile methodologies is a plus;

• Experience with Database management is a plus;

• Experience with testing and test automation is a plus ;

• Fluent English and Portuguese language skills.
