Project Lead Engineer

Do you want to be a part of a team who is leading the way with electrification in Oil & Gas, Mining, Power Generation and other critical industries by providing a wide range of Drives, Motors and end to end Service across a wide range of customers and applications? Our Siemens Large Drive Applications business is looking for a multi-faceted Project Lead Engineer with a wide range of experience in power engineering for multiple portfolios across a diverse range of domestic and international projects.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for technical implementation of project integration engineering as per desired timelines, budget and quality. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating Engineering teams across Electrical Projects of high complexity, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Developing and reviewing standard processes, tools and techniques while ensuring that Engineering activities align with required safety laws and contractual requirements.
  • Management of requirements engineering to resolve customer needs and define user stories.
  • Supporting the Project Manager in overall project risk and opportunity assessments and supervising the implementation of resulting improvement and mitigation actions.
  • Providing technical details, costs and deliverables for Sales proposals.
  • Supporting project managers in issuing claims related to changes in project scope, including assessing cost and time impacts as well as risk quantifications.
  • Resolving sophisticated technical issues both remotely and on domestic and international customer sites.
  • Coordination of internal and partner delivery resources for projects with seniority levels across competence pools
  • Customer technical interface during project execution
  • Development of detailed project plans to supervise progress and use appropriate verification techniques to handle changes in technical project scope
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or combined experience.
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of personalities
  • Profound industry know-how, i.e., Oil & Gas, Mining, Power Generation and other critical industries
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and lead time optimally
  • Confirmed collaboration / leadership skills as well as excellent analytical and conceptual skills including a results-oriented approach
  • Highly dynamic, flexible and adaptable personality
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion
  • Strong problem solving skills; Ability to learn quickly
  • Proven track record of completing projects on time, on budget, and satisfying all performance/quality requirements
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • 3-5 years of project related experience
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge and experience w/ MV variable frequency drive systems
