Health and Safety Engineer - Manufacturing

Job Description

Siemens Industry Inc. is seeking a Safety Engineer at its growing 600+ employee manufacturing facility in Roebuck, SC. The Safety Engineer is responsible for leading, co-leading and/or participating in cross functional safety related projects and initiatives to achieve Siemens’ goals and objectives. This role will work closely with the EHS team, leadership team and safety committee in pursuit of safety excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of current health and safety regulations, policies, and practices as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.


Responsibilities
•Ability to lead and support cross functional safety related projects
•Promote the application of best management practices through operational excellence and ensure compliance within all administrative and operational functions
•Assist with the maintenance and implementation of HS policies, practices, guidelines, and procedures
•Ensure employees and operations maintain compliance with health and safety regulations; and support the review of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization
•Assist in maintaining appropriate metrics, evaluating data trends, and providing data input to management reviews, with a view to continuous improvement and enhancement
•Coordinate incident/accident investigation process including root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are completed
•Conduct health, and safety audits and risk assessments
•Participate in external compliance audits and loss prevention audits
•Coordinate the completion of all corrective actions with site personnel resulting from incident investigations, risk assessments, compliance audits, or loss prevention audits
•Serve as a backup point of contact for government inquiries relating to Health and Safety
•Actively participate/co-lead the site safety committee


What you must have:
•B.S. Degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety Management, Engineering or equivalent
•Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in a health and safety position, with experience in a manufacturing environment
•Possesses comprehensive knowledge of safety and health guidelines and regulations, good working knowledge of health and safety engineering principles and practices
•Detailed knowledge/understanding and practical application of health and safety regulations (OSHA, state specific, ANSI, etc.)
•Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to successfully work independently and in team environments
•Knowledge and understanding of ISO 45001 standard
•Must have the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
•Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
