Job Description

As part of a Country or Vertical Software Sales organization, advocate and drive the development of allocated portfolio domains through the identification of a clear target market and go-to-market strategy, and the execution of campaign centered strategies to leverage and maximize software opportunities. Understand the market positions for the allocated portfolio domains for the Country including what problems we are solving, the solutions we are providing and the business value delivered to the customer, which requires adaption of the sales messaging and TIPS for each campaign, appreciating that the messaging will differ between industry. Act as trusted advisor to Country Sales, PreSales teams providing guidance on the planning, execution and measurement of portfolio development activities. Define and execute a Country portfolio execution plan, which determines where to focus, including identification of challenges and the activities to execute in order to overcome Act as key point of contact for Country Sales and Channel teams for campaign knowledge and portfolio domain expertise. Establish and track measurable goals for monitoring portfolio growth and market share against each campaign and portfolio in Country. Capture, document and provide feedback to Zone PFDs on content and lessons learnt. Works under self-management on assignments/pursuits and will determine solutions, methods and procedures. Provides guidance and mentoring within Country / Vertical to others on portfolio development approaches in specific portfolio domains. Works on portfolio domains including campaigns of basic scope.

Position Summary:

The Digital Manufacturing Portfolio Development Executive will be responsible for developing and executing the Americas go to market strategy for solution areas related to Siemens’ Additive Manufacturing portfolio.

As part of the America’s Zone Sales organization, a Portfolio Development Executive (PDE) must drive the pipeline creation and sales of the Digital Manufacturing (AM) Portfolio by targeting accounts and industries where the products have a fit. The PDE must work closely with industry PDE’s, account teams, and business partners, machine tool OEM’s and end customers to support the industry strategy.

To achieve success, the Digital Manufacturing PDE will be responsible for and take ownership of assigned campaigns, leveraging and collaborating with cross functional teams within Siemens Software as well as Siemens sister business units to maximize software opportunities. The Digital Manufacturing PDE must apply additive market knowledge and trends as it pertains to assigned industry(s) to assigned campaigns as well as occasionally creation of their own. Confidence in formulating an additive point solution as well as leveraging other Siemens software solution sets for a comprehensive End to End solution is critical as well. As a trusted partner with direct and indirect sales teams, this role will be 50% customer facing.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Vocalize Manufacturing subject matter expertise both internally and externally
  • Ability to define business needs and develop value propositions and contribute to the generation of compelling proposals in the area of  Manufacturing
  • Own the research to support Digital campaign business plan
  • Communicate solution gaps to our development organization
  • Ability to build a strategy and roadmap interacting with Senior Manufacturing Executives including C-Suite.
  • Assess and develop partnerships with 3rd party AM OEM’s, develop best practices and reusable templates
  • Assess, identify and enable focused DM business partners, define success matrix
  • Have a good understanding of the competitive DM solutions in the market, and proactively work to educate our country teams on how to differentiate Siemens from the competition
  • Work with academia/universities/governmental organizations in driving Siemens thought leadership and tools into these environments.
  • Ability to manage the unknown in an area / technology that is rapidly evolving
  • Develop and articulate Trends-Implications-Possibilities-Solutions, create presentations, and deliver a demo through AVI
  • Documented experience of owning and managing discovery phase with clients
  • Ask challenging questions to understand/identify problem areas
  • Clearly articulate “why Siemens?” in non-technical terms (then if required, at a more technical level)
  • Manage multiple campaigns/initiatives per year
  • Define campaign/initiative success with each Country Manager/Sales Leader
  • Develop business justification, sales execution plan and revenue goals
  • Complete understanding of campaign/initiative value proposition and presentation materials
  • Present plan to America’s Zone Managing Directors and Country Managers
  • Drive campaign execution with Industry, Marketing and Sales
  • Deliver sales enablement training of collateral as required
  • Deliver campaign and initiative materials to prospects and customers as required
  • Manage execution plan and report weekly progress
  • Support closing process if required
Prerequisites and Essential Functions

Minimum Requirements
  • Must have 5 to 10 years of sales, business development or presales experience and strong, proven grasp of technology/solutions
  • Ability to articulate end to end Digitalization message to the customer and ability to map in Siemens technology to the customer requirements and vision.
  • Demonstrated capability to be the trusted advisor for the client within new or existing customers at various organizational levels
  • Practical experience with Manufacturing software and Printers in a diverse manufacturing environment, including connection/integration to Design, Simulation, PLM, ERP and Shop floor technologies.
  • Experience working with clients in IoT/IIoT and Industry 4.0 based solutions
  • Proven written and presentation development skills required, with strong skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint and Tableau
  • An understanding of organizational management is critical
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Experience aligning with mid/upper level management and technical users
  • Collaborate and drive results with diverse teams across multiple internal and external organizations
  • Formal and informal networking across company
  • Approximately 50% travel
  • BA/BS degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Multi solution and multi industry experience a plus
  • MBA Preferred
  • Experience in production environment
