Your challenging new role:

Join our team for the bid and project execution for modern communication systems in railway infrastructure. Use your experience to drive the design and integration requirements of large-scale, high-speed railway infrastructure projects within time, budget, and quality framework, ensuring economic success and customer satisfaction. As a System Manager, you will be responsible for our projects' communication technology's architecture and technical functionality. This technology includes radio systems (such as TETRA, GSM-R, xG, WiFi), backbone (SDH, MPLS), CCTV, Access Control/Intrusion Detection System, Phone System, Passenger Information Display, and Announcement Systems.

Based on requirements, you will derive a technical concept and system architecture for the railway communication subsystem and develop a solution tailored to the customer's individual needs. To support project management, you will coordinate the implementation of the highly sophisticated communication systems. You will work closely in an international team with sales, engineering, development, project management colleagues, customers, and external partners to analyze customer requirements and examine their technical feasibility.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Responsibility for the technical management of Engineering activities as part of large-scale high-speed railway infrastructure projects
  • Carrying the responsibility for the application scope, both technical and commercial.
  • Determine comprehensive project objectives from the provided documents.
  • Development of design documentation, system architecture, and requirements to drive the execution of the project in compliance with industry standards, contractual requirements, and local legislation.
  • Coordinate application implementation with international partners, ensuring that the application goals defined with the technical management, project management, and all project participants are achieved.
  • Identify and exploit additional business opportunities during project implementation, e.g., identifying Change Requests or extending the scope towards generic application work packages.
To thrive in this role, you have:
  • Master's degree in Information Science or Engineering subject area (e.g., communications engineering or electrical engineering).
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in system management, communication networks design and management, product management, (partial) project management, or research & development.
  • Preferred industry background in railway engineering, traffic engineering, or aerospace.
  • Excellent knowledge of data transmission / industrial networks and Radio Networks.
  • Experience working in international project environments, have an excellent command of the English language (written and verbal), and are willing to travel (up to 20%).
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles for planning, scheduling, and budget
