This role is well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As the Syva Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for achieving assigned sales goals in the specialty Drugs of Abuse testing market. This is a field based sales role, you must reside in the assigned territory, which includes Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana and be willing to travel regularly.


This position is responsible for selling reagents and capital products to specialty accounts involved in the Drugs of Abuse (DAU) testing market. The sales representative hired will primarily be calling on toxicology, reference, and criminal justice laboratories (regional and national) in their territory. Syva customers are made up of Clinical Tox and Reference labs, Criminal Justice/Drug Court labs, Industrial testing sites, Drug Treatment testing sites and other entities that regularly test for DAU’s. This position regularly interacts with various departments within Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics (DX) to support our customer’s needs. Externally the Sales Specialist interacts with all levels of employees and management at their current and prospect customer accounts and opportunities. The nature of these interactions includes distributing up to date technical documentation for DX specialty products, answering questions, solving problems, coordinating instrument demonstrations and installations, providing education on product information and ongoing management of territory accounts.

This position requires independent thinking, strong onsite selling effort, good customer orientated plans, with excellent communication and presentations skills. This position involves regular onsite travel to meet with current and prospect customers throughout TX, OK, AR and LA, 50-70% a month of your time will be in field. You would be involved in answering questions on product performance, features and benefits, finance, and pricing. Some customer setups will be more complex and require involvement of other DX resources to present the best solution. Effective performance is measured primarily by instrument and reagent revenue sales to an annual sales plan. Successful candidates will have:

-        3+ years sales experience, having sold to toxicology laboratories, chemistry, reference, or criminal justice call points is preferred

-        A clean driving record over the last three years is required

-        Computer proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, CRM and other sales software platforms
