Today, we are recruiting for Quality Engineer to Join Siemens Mobility High Speed Train Project Team in Cairo office. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals from Rail /Transportation Business looking to join a truly international team.

Your Role – International, Challenging and Future-Oriented!

QC Documentation:

  • Create, maintain, and implement site quality control procedures and work instructions, inspection checklist.
  • As applicable, assist in reviewing method statements, inspection/ test plans (ITP) in close cooperation with relevant department and QM management.
  • Implementation and maintenance of the Project Quality Management System requirement in accordance with the Project Quality Plan and Procedures.
  • Collecting and compiling statistical quality data to generate quality reports at predefined frequencies.
  • Highlight and report any unauthorized/undocumented site changes and initiate the change request process.

Material QC:

  • Provides and ensures calibration of all measurement and testing tools according to internal and external standards.
  • Establishes appropriate quality control of the material according to project specification.
  • Review and assures that materials certificates, data sheets and test reports are valid, accurate and real.

Site QC:

  • Coordinate and work closely with all interested parties including but not limited to site/installation team/project consultant to carry out site activities inspection according to approved method statements and ITPs, highlight any deviation, discrepancies and/or nonconforming activities and report it to quality manager and involved department.
  • Coordinate, perform and report site quality walks.
  • Ensure that the works are carried out as per the specification, approved construction drawing and method statement. And confirm that the works are properly inspected at the required stages as stated in ITP and/or as required and recorded accordingly.
  • Issue and administer site related non-conformance, corrective action reports as necessary and ensure follow up and closure.
  • Check and ensure that required tests are performed and verify its compliance against requirements. Witness the tests on a random basis.
  • Coordinate with the site team, consultant, client to resolve QC related problems, if any.
  • Obtain and verify the quality records and maintain it in a traceable, easily retrievable and safe manner. Maintain a proper log for the records.
  • Whenever required, record inspection results by completing quality relevant reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database.
  • Escalate quality-related matters to the consortium quality Manager for taking necessary action.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering and site drawings.

Organizational focus:

  • Training the project team members on quality control measures.
  • Conducting internal and suppliers’ quality audits as requested according to ISO 9001 QMS and project specifications.
  • Proposing improvement opportunities to the project.
  • Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training.

Your Qualifications and Skills – Digital and Solid!

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electro-mechanical or Civil.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in Quality management / site quality inspections / Electrical & mechanical installation inspection / Civil work inspection / material inspection / QMS Auditing.
  • Former experience in high-speed railway projects.
  • Proficiency in using MS Excel.
  • Very good command of English both written and spoken.
  • Experience in leading teams without given authority.
  • Work experience in multi-cultural organization.
  • Result oriented and able to lead and influence project teams.
  • Very good knowledge of ISO 9001-2015.
  • Possess Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor Certifications from notified bodies.
  • Holding valid NDT certifications from notified bodies (VT, MT, PT, RT, UT) is highly preferable.
  • Experience in Audit management and reporting.
  • Experience in implementing Agile/Lean Principles and Practices in projects is advantage
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently on problems.
  • Have good presentation skills and ability to interact with various levels of management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with different stakeholders of the organization
  • Proficient in quality methods of risk analysis and quality planning (e.g., assessment, FMEA, initial sampling, etc.) as well as problem management (e.g. 8D)
  • Proficient in interpreting and understanding technical (drawings, EN standards) and experience in recognizing and realizing potential for improvement.
  • Holding valid Egyptian driving license is must.
