Senior Technical Manager - Rail Electrification

We seek to hire a Senior Technical Manager to possess the overall technical responsibility for the system requirements, architecture, design, and system concept of operations, considering product characteristics and contractual obligations. Our campus in Wilsonville, OR, will provide a modern landscape for you to consult with the Project Management team on system and architecture issues and develop optimal system concepts for our customers. You will continuously review the profitable processing of technology, which includes coordinating our partners' technology and clarifying interfaces. As a system expert, you will approve and accept engineering documents to confirm they meet customer requirements and consider technical risks. You will then define, recommend, and implement appropriate countermeasures.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Ensure project success and satisfaction of the customer and ensures professional partner management within the area of responsibility;
  • Manage a network of technical specialists to realize customer-specific rail electrification solutions;
  • Coordinates the Engineering fields and the cooperation with involved engineering units, including their interfaces;
  • Ensures the translation of customer requirements into technically and economically optimal power supply concepts for competitive bids and profitable project implementation;
  • Conducts tests and monitors the customer acceptance of completed Works;
  • Reviews results and identifies improvement potentials within the specialist field and related fields;
  • Assures compliance with applicable technical standards and regulations;
  • Drives Quality Gates and Milestones in Engineering according to RE processes;
  • Analyses customer requirements concerning non-existent (loopholes in descriptions), unclear/contradictory or unreasonable requirements, a compilation of any assumptions as a substitute for non-existent requirements, and initiation of timely, binding clarification of such requirements with the customer;
  • Ensures the Bill of Materials of individual sub-projects/work packages is consolidated into an overall project BoM, checking for correctness and ensuring proper change control.
To thrive in this role, you have:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) qualified in any US state (preferred)with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience
  • Minimum five (5) years experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar
  • Demonstrable in-depth knowledge and experience of AC and DC rail electrification schemes, particularly distribution assets
  • Proven knowledge of and experience with Siemens Electrification products is an advantage
  • Proficient in discipline-specific ANSI / IEEE and NEMA standards
  • Strong organizational, collaborative, and leadership experience and capability
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and report at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Visio)
