Product Manager for Advanced Technology and Intelligent Electronic Devices

Siemens Electrical Products has setup dedicated resources to develop new businesses including business model, portfolio definition and Go-to-Market strategy. The first clear focus is the build-up of leading-Edge solid-state technologies for circuit protection. The Product Manager will develop requirement specifications to guide the research and development and technical implementation to support the delivery, installation, and maintenance of Solid-State circuit Protection and other advanced technologies.

What are my responsibilities?

·        Development of requirement specifications including both residential and commercial end customer applications

·        Prioritize opportunities from the market and applicable industries identified

·        Evaluation of new technologies and concepts to support future product needs domestically and internationally

·        Participate with cross-organizational partners for implementation of existing products

·        Identify potential gaps in portfolio, both against competition and new market opportunities

·        Challenge R&D development path and product qualification requirements to assure safety

·        Participate in hands-on development of PLM cycle – from concept to production

·        Participate in and lead industry standards committees in USA and Globally

·        Identification and creation of applicable application instructions and selling tools

·        Development and tracking of appropriate KPI measures for new product introductions.  Coordination of these measures across applicable departments for a harmonized global strategy. 

·        Assist in application of technology concepts to support critical system integration

·        Consulting with customer, installers, and internal sales division to address critical to quality features.

·        Training process for internal / external employees

·        Strong contribution to market introduction, field tests & trainings

·        Creation of business plan including profitability projections and ramping projections

·        Market pricing and forecasting for new product releases

What do I need to qualify for this job?

·        Bachelor of Science or Engineering required. Preference for specific experience in electronics, circuit protection and power distribution.

·        At least 5 years experience with prior experience in development of intelligent electronic devices.

·        At least 5 years’ experience with prior experience in electrical systems and their installation.  Specific working understanding of both low voltage electrical and communication networks a plus.

·        Basic understanding of electro-technic devices and installations. Specific working understanding of installation processes for low voltage and communication networks a plus.

·        Prior experience in applicable photovoltaic and/or storage markets a strong preference.

·        Excellent verbal and presentation skills and capability to promote new ideas and products

·        Basic working understanding of Amazon Web Services and/or cloud-based service support platforms.

·        Good project management skills

·        Ability to travel regionally greater than 10% of time. 

·        Analytical thinking combined with conceptual and organizational abilities

·        Fluent in English a must.  Basic working understanding of German or Spanish preferred

This person will be responsible for leading product innovation and developing new revenue opportunities. 

This person will manage the priorities of the Product Engineering team and collaborate with R&D, and QA to define and execute a product strategy. 

The Product Manager will work with R&D to develop a product roadmap as well as help the sales force to identify customer requirements and sales strategies. 

The role requires strong product management experience, a core engineering background, excellent analytical capabilities, and strong communication skills. 

This person will be instrumental in defining the go-to market strategy for the product line and will work closely with the sales force to execute product initiatives. The individual must be able to plan long term product requirements, resources, and provide ROI rationale for their decisions. 

The individual will interact with multiple levels of senior management and will be responsible for

developing and presenting the product offering at company and industry events.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • BS/MS CS/EE or equivalent.
  • Product manager with ability to manage technical staff and define product strategy/roadmap.
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence manage other elements of a cross functional product development team (R&D, QA, Field Engineers).
  • Have a strong background in integrated circuit design, integrated circuit layout, physical verification, and circuit verification
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to develop and deliver compelling content for internal and external audiences

Additional qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of industry data formats and concepts such as LEF/DEF, Open Access, Liberty, and Verilog
