Our Rail Infrastructure business is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods to improve safety, quality, product cost, and efficiency. This position applies knowledge of design, materials, fabrication, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality standards to build components and controllers needed for our rail crossings and bungalows.

We'd love to have you join our existing team of Manufacturing Engineers supporting our facility in Marion, KY, as you collaborate with R&D, Engineering, and Product Management while addressing questions from our assemblers regarding manufacturing techniques. You will also provide technical leadership training to resolve test, process, product, and quality-related issues while evaluating process control.

You are a degreed Mechanical Engineer who partners with others to get work done. You seek ways to improve processes, from minor tweaks to complete re-engineering. What success looks like:
  • Participate in NPI design reviews - providing input on manufacturing (DFM) and testing (DFT) of new products.
  • Recommend product modifications to increase production efficiency and contribute to re-engineering efforts.
  • Support prototype and pilot production of new products, product changes, and enhancements by analyzing manufacturing and test sequences and ensuring alignment to DFM/DFT standards.
  • Use CAD software to review and understand technical drawings and create detailed cell layout drawings.
  • Conduct improvement projects with business excellence, engineering, and external vendors or service providers.
  • Plan tools, equipment, IT needed, and designs or create the manufacturing workflow.
  • Ensure appropriate process documentation includes standardized work, PFMEA, process capability, time studies, control plans, and value stream map.
