Electrification & Automation

The Electrification & Automation (E&A) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio to create the power distribution grid of the future. 

The Role

The Financial Controller for the US E&A Customer Services business is responsible for the full P&L (~$100M) and all finance related activities, risk management and accuracy of books & records.

You will have 3 direct reports and will lead the following activities: financial planning & analysis, contract administration and commercial project management. 

This position is in Wendell, NC USA and reports to the Electrification & Automation, Head of Finance.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Drive business results by pro-actively identifying opportunities for business process and finance improvements and ensuring timely execution.
  • Serve as close Advisor and Business Partner to the Head of Customer Services, in all questions related to financial performance, financial risk management, and compliant business operations while executing the EA CS business strategy.
  • Coordinate and ensure accurate and timely completion of all accounting, financial statements and reporting, and other finance-related operations in line with quality standards and within internal requirements.
  • Report financial performance and progress on key initiatives to global and local management on regular basis.
  • Serve as key contributor in the Business Performance management process by providing financial transparency on business activities, insightful analyses and targets, predictions, or models on future business development.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and high reliability in all delivery KPIs.
  • Support all business functions with financial planning, reporting and analyses, as well as state-of-the-art IT infrastructure & tools to ensure business continuity and drive digitalization and automation of all internal processes.
  • Display agility and resilience to effectively lead a team within a changing environment, always looking for improved team dynamics, cost savings, and innovative approaches to leading a sophisticated business.
  • Lead, motivate, coach and develop team of financial professionals to deliver business results and drive employee productivity and engagement.
  • Build and maintain trustful relationships with key stakeholders in the worldwide matrix organization.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Education*

  • Bachelor’s degree or educational equivalent
  • 10+ years business experience
  • Proven track record managing P&L and successful performance in a project business
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a multi-national environment and a matrix organization
  • Demonstrated ability to drive the organization to think and act in ways that enhance efficiency and effectiveness while encouraging new technologies and how work is done
  • Excitement and drive for change while being empathetic to a successful organizations’ culture

*Consideration will be given to candidates with long-term experience in finance in lieu of degree.
