Change Manager- Rolling Stock

Job Description

Siemens Mobility Division provides efficient and integrated transportation of people and goods by rail and road – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, intelligent traffic systems, and service. We design and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission and signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.

In this role, you will review and comment on mechanical/electrical design changes and handle these developments through our engineering, procurement, production planning, manufacturing and commissioning processes. You will manage the processes and internal transactions to implement the changes within our Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP) environment.

What you will be doing :

Lead the control and efficient management of all aspects of Light Rail project product related change.

Coordinates, and supervises all aspects of engineering and production changes in a project. Sets priorities for all steps of the change process.

Communicates vital information between departments and data management systems. Responsible for running the overall change processes and procedures for all Light Rail projects.

Tracks the implementation of the design changes throughout the relevant departments. Responsible for the close collaboration between the engineering team and the manufacturing team to ensure efficient design change execution.

Coordinates the requests, creation, approval, release, and implementation of product changes.

Supervise the release and implementation status of all product changes and associated rework instructions


Monitors the effects of product changes on design and material availability. Manages and tracks the configuration of the product.

Reports the status of product changes, implementation, material impacts, and product configuration to management on a regular basis.

Acts as technical resource for commissioning site leads.

Change Manager ensures that manufacturing problems become engineering change requests (ECR’s) and when necessary become engineering change orders (ECO’s) and field modification instructions

What you will need to be successful:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in an acceptable alternate occupation.

Sophisticated knowledge of product detail design for light rail; experience with Engineering computer design software (Pro-E/ Creo, PDMLink, ProductView)

Experience with SAP and JD Edwards software; and familiarity in general with databases (design and use).

Approximately 5 to 10% travel required.

We would be impressed if you had:

5 years of proven experience related to the manufacturing of rail vehicles, heavy machinery or similar industries
