Senior Employee Engagement Specialist (f/m/d)

Job Description


Siemens Smart Infrastructure is looking for a passionate, solution-oriented, well-structured and innovative communications professional to drive and actively shape the strategic and operational internal communications.
As a Senior Employee Engagement Specialist you work closely with the Head of Employee Engagement and contribute to the overall employee engagement strategy by developing, creating and driving comprehensive, inspiring and impactful concepts and formats with the goal of engaging employees and embedding our strategic topics, vision, and culture through a variety of media channels.

In this role, you will …
  • Co-develop the annual internal communications plan in alignment with the wider communications team and key business stakeholders
  • Ensure a consistent global internal communication approach as well as KPI setting & evaluation for internal communication activities within your area of responsibility 
  • Identify communication needs and requirements and derive effective and efficient internal communication measures
  • Develop persuasive content for our various communications formats and projects, from executive team messaging to individual contributor success stories, e.g., internal blog posts, presentations, videos, imagery, podcasts, etc.
  • Manage projects and day-to-day deliverables to ensure they are communicated efficiently with the right message to the right audience at the right time
  • Act as communication partner for selected key projects that support strategic topics, projects and initiatives
  • Execution of large-scale events with global reach, in all formats including in-person, hybrid and virtual events 
  • Developing frontline leadership engagement materials for cascading key messages to support the executives in delivering their communication effectively
  • Establish a trusted relationship with different target groups ranging from top management, people managers to employees in all businesses and functions
  • Building on and managing existing internal communication channels and exploring new and innovative ways of communicating that improve the level of engagement within SI
  • Manage external agencies and service providers for various communications services
  • You have successfully completed your studies in communication sciences, journalism or equivalent and six to eight years of professional experience in employee communication and/or other communications functions
  • You have a proven track record in developing and implementing global strategies for a corporate, international group with a relevant scale and complexity
  • You have got a strong organizational ability, and you are experienced in planning and managing a systematic approach to communication plans 
  • You have experience in being part in international cross-functional projects and small, project-related teams
  • You are able to translate business objectives and requirements into effective internal communication and engagement strategies
  • You are creative and thrive on figuring out new ways to engage employees and help them understand and connect to the organization´s overarching strategic mission
  • You know how to “connect the dots” with key internal stakeholders across a range of businesses, functions and locations
  • You are confident in working with executives and know how to align interests of various stakeholders to build consensus
  • You are able to work successfully in a team environment but can individually react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround is essential for the role
  • You are passionate for the opportunities provided by digital communications  
  • Profound knowledge in social media and internal influencer management is a plus
  • You provide a full range of communications support including creative storytelling and text editing, presentation development
  • Fluency in English is a must and, preferably, you have solid written and spoken German skills
  • Ideally, you are familiar with the legalities and nuances of co-determination in Germany
