This position is part of our Power Technologies International (PTI) team. This position will report to Siemens PTI office based in Houston, TX. Work options include local or fully remote anywhere in the US.

It's your role, here's the part you can play:

You will work on exciting projects applying power systems planning principles, simulation and analysis of power system reliability steady state and dynamic behavior, and delivery of technical consulting/training services. Typical projects include generator interconnection studies, transmission planning reliability studies, renewable generation prospecting, carbon emission reduction studies.

  • Executes project responsibility of power system analysis especially transmission planning, often under timeline and budget constraints
  • Conducts periodic project status report
  • Produces draft reports and presentations with study results for review by senior staff and managers
  • Participates in business and proposal development including budget and timeline as needed
  • Analyzes customer's business requirements to meet customer's needs
  • Participates in internal and external training and mentoring opportunities
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and critical thinking skills with growth mindset.

Be part of our team, here's what's needed:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Power Systems Engineering with practical experience in using advanced power system analysis tools. We will consider candidates with 1+ years of relevant experience including engineering internships.
  • Advanced degree is a plus
  • Must have working experience using PSS® Other software such as TARA, Aspen, PSCAD or EMTP is a plus
  • Knowledge of transmission system planning or operations with experience analyzing power flow, transient stability, and electromagnetic transients.
  • Programming skills is a plus
  • Experience in distribution planning and/or production costing will be considered a plus
  • Very good verbal and written skills
  • Good work attitude and ability to work in a team environment
