What will you do?

 

We are looking for a Building automation Designer level 1 or level 2 to join our team. This remote position will allow you to balance work-life and be part of the Small Project team!

 

You are a technician working in Building Automation, either in Service or Solution and you would love to leave the road and work on different projects? This might be a great opportunity for you to evolve into a next step of your career.

 

Responsibilities:

 
  • Part of very small projects team executing projects with sell price of $30K max and 16 hours and
  • less of engineering.
  • Works closely with the project manager.
  • Good knowledge of preparing submittals and schedules; handle the ordering of products and
  • Participate in sales-to-operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate
  • and job layout.
  • Good Knowledge of building automation systems. Knowledge of Preparing design documents,
  • including mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bills of materials, sequences of operations, valve and damper schedules, and DDC panel layouts.
  • Good knowledge of building automation network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices connected through Modbus, Ethernet,
  • Siemens P2, or BACNET. Analyze plans, construction contract specifications, and codes to
  • determine project requirements and risks.
  • Collaborate to review, discuss, and document any customer standards located in the project
  • folder in the project SharePoint.
  • Understand requirements and design building automation solutions for higher education and K–
  • 12 education facilities, high-rise buildings, pharmaceutical sites and office spaces.
  • Reviews all engineering work using a quality control checklist.
  • Good with following processes and detail orientated.
 

What will you need to succeed?

 
  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of building automation design experience
  • Experience with HVAC, Controls and building integration is mandatory
  • Field building automation experience is a great asset (Building maintenance, field technician)
  • Ability to design small quick turnaround jobs with some deviation using standard tools, products,
  • and practices.
  • Good knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Fluent in French is mandatory (Written and verbal)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, CAD Training, or other engineering design software
  • Proficient in Bluebeam Revu 2020 and/or Adobe Pro preferred.
