Areas of Responsibility:

• Possessing specialist knowledge of operating systems, devices, applications, and software
• Providing technical support to teams within the organisation, and to external clients when required
• Assisting with systems integrations
• Managing ticketed query system and ensuring a comprehensive database of queries and resolutions is kept up to date
• Managing coordination at a local level where required
• Preparing maintenance plans and upgrading schedules for the organisation’s systems
• Support Regulatory audits, in conjunction with Operational teams
• Provide on-call cover, 24/7/365, on a rotating basis
•2nd point of contact and 1st point of escalation for system and I.T. process issues.
•Root cause analysis and resolution for applications.
•Monitor the help desk system for work requests and system problem logs.
•Work closely with team members, I.T. personnel, and internal and external customers to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of services and resolution of issues.
•Provide on-call support to the business & participate in out of hours implementations.
•Capability to analyse technical requirements that will provide the successful means of which to deliver a software solution in terms of functional and operational remits. 
•Assess technical feasibility of the functional requirements - ensuring the overall solution is feasible in terms of software, hardware, security and environmental aspects.

What skills and experience you will bring to the role:

•Experience in "Application Management, monitoring and alerting, automation, project delivery
•Experience of  Application Management and Electricity/Gas"
•Oracle SQL & PL/ SQL language skills.
•Unix Scripting language skills.
•Understanding of other software disciplines – design, documentation, impact analysis and testing.
•Ability to work independently and within a wider team.
•Ability to work remotely and with Third party organisations.
•An understanding of the utility business and technologies involved within the industry sector.
•Good capability at adapting to new systems and technologies.
•Able to analyse and interpret complex data/output.
•Able to produce high quality documentation.
•A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
