This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Create PCBA and FPGA design requirements and specifications
  • Own PCB schematic designs and drive board layout, assembly, and testing
  • Design complex FPGA’s utilizing Verilog design language preferably targeting Xilinx/AMD FPGA’s
  • Develop robust testbench/simulation environments for FPGA testing and verification
  • Develop timing and physical implementation constraints
  • Create and execute verification plans written for board and FPGA designs
  • Participate in design integration activities with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Hold detailed design reviews for FPGA and PCB designs
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement changes to improve yield, performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Support PCB layout activities.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • BSEE and 5-8 years of experience with high-speed PCB and FPGA design
  • Experience designing analog and digital circuits
  • Experience with Xilinx/AMD FPGA design flow
  • Verilog RTL design skills
  • Familiarity with Mentor Graphics schematic capture tools, VHDL/Verilog simulation tools, and PCB layout tools (Cadence Allegro or similar)
  • Experience with board stack up, layout requirements, & layout rules
  • Digital signal processing and analog signal processing experience is highly desirable
  • Basic understanding of regulatory requirements for medical device design control and manufacturing
  • Ability to apply basic scientific reasoning to resolve technical problems
  • Medical device design experience is preferred.
