We are recruiting highly motivated candidates to join our Technical Product Marketing apprenticeship scheme who want to make a difference and develop their skills in Product Marketing alongside the development of their technical understanding of the Electrical Products portfolio.

You will be joining our Electrical Products business within Siemens Smart Infrastructure - a global supplier of products and solutions for low voltage motor control and power distribution networks used in industrial applications, utilities and smart buildings.


Part of being an apprentice at Siemens means you get to work on real life projects whilst also being supported on a guided learning journey. This will be a 3 year apprenticeship where you will complete the Level 4 Marketing Executive standard.  


Here is how the programme works:


  • Following your off-site induction week you will immediately begin integrating into the Siemens community you will embark on a broad range of tasks within Electrical Products based primarily at our Manchester site.
  • You will work on your Apprenticeship Standard which, in conjunction with your on the job learning, will help you develop your sales and marketing skills.
  • You will also undertake your apprenticeship End Point Assessment in your final year.
  • Throughout the apprenticeship you will continue to learn and develop your competences in areas such as:
  • Undertaking product training on Low Voltage Control and Switchgear systems along with wider automation and distribution systems.
  • Marketing of the Electrical Products portfolio.
  • Taking responsibility for the product lifecycle management of aspects of the product portfolio including market launch, pricing, promotion, marketing, technical and sales support etc.
  • Ensuring success of the sales process and a positive customer experience through development of customer relationships, building trust and confidence in the organisation’s capabilities through demonstration of detailed product knowledge, competitor knowledge and an understanding of the market in which they operate.
  • Being an ambassador for the Siemens brand and our values.
  • Identification and implementation of business improvements.
  • Continuing to develop a breadth of knowledge in the Electrical Products portfolio of products and services in order to competently specify electrical engineering solutions which will satisfy customer requirements.
  • Developing your technical skills alongside your negotiation / relationship building skills and commercial acumen throughout the learning journey.
  • Your learning will be supported throughout your programme by Siemens mentors and by one of our training partners who will be the apprenticeship provider.

Entry requirements:


This apprenticeship requires a blend of disciplines and the ideal candidate will have a keen interest in electrical engineering and is also looking to develop in a role which will not only challenge them technically but also develop their sales and marketing skills with a view to becoming a Product Marketing Executive.

You will have achieved at least 5 GCSE's grade 4 or above including Maths and English Language and you will have achieved or be on track to achieve 3 A Levels (or a Level 3 BTEC) at grade B or above, one of which must be a numerate subject.
