What part will you play?

At Siemens eMobility customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do. To help us build functional systems that improve the customer experience, we’re looking for a DevOps engineer who can be responsible for building up our software development environment that meets our customers’ needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering and be familiar with programming languages like Shell, Python, TypeScript, C++ and package management tools supporting them. Who  will work with developers around the globe to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended. 
  • Building, customizing and implementing new development tools and infrastructure
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
  • Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
  • Working with software developers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
  • Setting up a global standard in automated test pipelines
  • Enlarge and customize automated test pipelines 
  • Build up a suitable automated environment for continuous integration with Smoke Test, Software in the Loop and Hardware in the Loop
What you need to make real what matters.
  • The basis of your success is a bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • You have long-term experience in software product development and state of the art agile development methods
  • You have at least 3 years’ experience with GitLab
  • You understand the reasoning behind requirements engineering and are willing actively to gather requirements together with your peers. You have experience working with tools like Jira, Confluence,  Polarion.
  • You are used to work in a Linux environment, and you may have used Yocto build systems
  • You are fluent in Shell, Python, C++ and CMake
  • You are familiar with concepts of continuous deployment and continuous integration
  • You have the ability to create something new and extraordinary
  • You can build long-term relationships with internal colleagues and external providers. Enjoys working in an international and multi-functional team collaboratively across different software teams
  • You have very good English knowledge. German is a plus.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills to present and discuss technical strategies and your own ideas
